Each spring OHMAR organizes a conference that provides in-depth information on oral history issues, projects, and technology. Sometimes partnering with other organizations such as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference, and the Middle Atlantic Folklife Association, OHMAR conferences provide extenstive opportunities for networking and information sharing.

Each fall OHMAR organizes workshops of interest to beginning and experienced oral historians. Workshops offer an excellent opportunity to learn basic practices, hone tested skills, become familiar with new technology and issues, and to network with others in the field.
